Yesterday at the University of Florida, Andrew Meyer (21 years old) was ARRESTED for asking Kerry a couple of [annoying] questions at a campus event.
Hundreds of students stood by when, instead of being escorted out, Meyer was arrested, brought to the ground, and tasered when he asked “what did I do?” and yelled “help me!” repeatedly.
He was sent to county jail, apparently because he was ‘disturbing the peace’ and ‘resisting arrest with violence’.
Interesting how Kerry, during this disruption, kept droning on and answering Meyer’s questions. Also interesting how the audience cheers for his arrest. Say hello to the future of America…I mean this is a University which, the last time I checked, was the last place you go for education. These are people who should know, or at least ought to know, basic first amendment rights yet start to cheer when someone else’s rights get blatantly violated.
A police officer even draws a GUN out on him, if you look real close at the video.
Here’s some raw footage on YouTube:
For a BETTER point of view:
At least ONE person is standing up for our First Amendment right !
Here’s a YouTube clip of the MSNBC news report:
You can read more about it at this Associated Press article.
*EDIT
Apparently, this guy Meyer is turning out to be a total clown:
“Meyer has his own Web site and it contains several
“comedy” videos that he appears in. In one, he
stands in a street with a sign that says “Harry Dies”
after the latest Harry Potter book was released.
In another, he acts like a drunk while trying to
pick up a woman in a bar.“

This is fucking America and this was a PUBLIC FORUM where you the public is allowed to ask a F*** question! The senator could chose not to answer. Remember this is Florida Bush country the same state where many citizens voting rights were violated in the last two elections. I hope that student gets an attorney and sues the shit out of the university for failing to protect his 1st amendment rights!!!!

MSNBC dropped the ball on this story. He wasn’t tasered for asking about the election. He was being escorted out for being a douchebag at the event. He was tasered for wrestling with the officers when he resisted being escorted out. Read the eyewitness accounts on Facebook and read teh police report online.

The cop draws a gun, points it at Meyer in a room full of people.
Is there anything else to say? Sure, this video will soon be censured because of its VIOLENT content. Same thing happened with a video of a cop shooting Miguel Caceres in the back in Puerto Rico. An unarmed man being thrown on the ground while cops try to SUBDUE him. You Tube is part of the problem. We have no First Amendment Rights. There is no Constitution. From now on we have the PATRIOT ACT. Ooops! “For quality purposes this message is being recorded… Your thoughts are of a violent subversive nature, submit or you will be tased”… If this is your idea of freedom, go back and do some reading. Huxley had it right: BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!

What kind of police state are we living in when a person cannot ask legitimate questions of our elected representatives! If the questions are controversial or unpopular are we to be arrested or jailed? It is sickening to see the spineless, pathetic student body and faculty just sitting there watching and cheering for the thug police officers as they remove Andrew Meyer from the auditorium, clearly violating his first amendment rights. If I had been there, I would have been greatly interested in hearing Mr. Kerry’s response to these “very important questions”. It is sad commentary to see so many young intellectuals without a clue! It is no wonder we have allowed our government officials to lead us into an unending, illegal occupation. Is this what our universities are teaching our youth? These kids make me puke!
